Body Piercing Aftercare Instructions

WASH

your hands thoroughly prior to cleaning or touching your piercing for any reason.

SALINE

Using a cotton swap and/or Q-tip gently clean both the entry and exit areas of your piercing with sterile saline solution at least 3-4 times a day.

DO NOT use the following to clean your piercing: Alcohol/Witch Hazel/ Peroxide or Bactine. It will dry your piercing out, causing cracking and bleeding.

If your piercer suggests using soap, gently lather around the piercing and rinse as needed. Avoid using harsh soaps, or soaps with dyes, fragrances, or triclosan.

RINSE thoroughly to remove all traces of the soap from the piercing. It is not necessary to rotate the jewelry through the piercing.

ORAL PIERCINGS/LIP PIERCINGS ex: SNAKE EYES, MONROE, VENOM, VERTICAL LABRET ETC:

Rinse before and after eating with non-alcoholic mouthwash.

Be sure to eat generous amounts of ice and drink lots of cold water to calm swelling.

DRY

Gently pat with clean, disposable paper products. Cloth towels can harbor bacteria and snag on jewelry, causing injury.

*Avoid touching or sleeping on your piercing excessively.

*Twisting your piercing isn't necessary and can cause irritation.

HEALING TIMES

Tongue/ (ex: snake eyes, venom , frog eyes etc): 6-8 weeks

(varies with each individual)

*MUST eat soft for the first 2 weeks, (ex: ice cream, yogurt, smoothies etc.)

*Avoid eating hard foods such as: bread, chips, chicken, fried foods etc.)

Cartilage/ (ex: helix, industrial, tragus etc): 4 months- 1 year.

Nostril: 2-4 months

(varies with each individual)

Septum: 1-3 months

(varies with each individual)

Lip/ (ex: medusa, monroe, vertical labret etc): 2-4 months

(varies with each individual)

Belly: 5 months-1 year

(varies with each individual)

Surface piercings/ (ex: anti-tragus/eyebrow/anti-eyebrow): 2-3 months

(varies with each individual)
